Celebrating New Federal Theatre's Woodie King, Jr.

In honor of Black History Month, the Maysles Film Institute, located at 343 Malcolm X Blvd (Lenox Ave. /127 & 128th St.), is sponsoring a month-long salute to Woodie King, Jr., featuring films, readings, receptions, and a book party on February 19th. The Book event will kick off with readings from various plays and excerpts from the books Mr. King has had published. There will be books available to purchase and signed by Mr. King at the Reception following readings.

Woodie King, Jr. is the artistic director of New Federal Theatre, one of the longest-running and most invaluable indie theater institutions, especially because of their commitment to supporting work of people of color and other underserved groups.
